what we see.

We built a lower power copy of our electronics, so we can calibrate all deflection coils outside of UHV (we did not have the 'quick access doors' until recently) by way of using a CRTtube from an old oscilloscope and our electronics powering it. The accelerating voltage is the same -so that speed of electrons is the same as we'll be using in our UHV chamber. Because we're using already existing deflection coils, we are now figuring out whether is it worth it to take timeto calibrate this-or should we just wind new symetrical deflection coils ourselves. The 2 deflection coils we are using here are not the same- x-y coil has a different resistance(impedance) than the up-down coil.
The question we're trying to answer here is:
-do we calibrate the existing coils (by way of offseting our (digital) output or by way of physically connectingstuff serially to one of the coils (to try to match the impedance of both coils)
-do we wind new coils ourselves (doable, around 13m of 1mm wire at r=5cm gives us around 20+20windings for an approx. 8 Ohms coil)
-do we not care at all (for the first tests we could definetely print something with straight lines-which we can already do atm), elipses and circles.
Pepa(a.k.a Bajsa-Fatty), our UHV chamber that weights more than me.
